Manchester Airport

Manchester International Airport (MIA) is the fourth busiest airport in the UK, with more than 100 airlines offering 225 destinations worldwide. Called ‘the gateway to Northern England’, the airport also offers access to the far reaching corners of the UK. The airport was officially opened in 1938 before becoming an RAF Ringway during WW2. Manchester Airport now has two parallel runways, a railway station, three terminals and a bus interchange. It also offers a viewing station, a popular tourist attraction, where visitors can tour famous aircraft or view the aircraft from afar. The airport has also been celebrated with numerous awards including World’s Best Airport in 1995.

Parking Facilities

There are a variety of options for every parking need and the car parks have been awarded the Parkmark recognition, making parking easy and secure. The airport also offers pre-booking for all carparks. The short term stay car parks are located only a few minutes walk from the terminal and are reasonably priced. The long term stay car parks are a shuttle bus ride away but these are frequent and easy to use. There are also facilities available for disabled passengers and motorcycles.

Manchester Airport is located almost entirely within the boundaries of the city of Manchester, and is 8.8 miles from Manchester’s city centre.

Transport Links

Manchester Airport is easily reached via car, rail or bus as it has various transport links on site. The city centre can be easily accessed from the M56 or A5103. The railway station at Manchester Airport can be reached from various places such as Leeds, York, Blackpool and The Lake District amongst others. The airport also contains taxi ranks outside all three terminals, allowing easy access to taxis. There are also frequent buses to and from the airport.

Conference and other Business Facilities

Manchester Airport houses its own conference facilities which include space for up to 400 delegates as well as phone and fax facilities, overhead projection, PA and centralised control consoles. Alternatively, there is a sheltered walkway to the nearby Radisson hotel which also offers state of the art conference and meeting facilities.

Hannover Airport

Hannover Airport, also known as Langenhagen Airport, is located in one of Germany’s most popular and exciting cities. Opened in 1952, the airport was developed from an old airfield. One of the few airports open 24 hours a day, Hannover services up to 8 million passengers a year. The airport also unusually occasionally hosts ‘techno’ parties and celebrations including football parties and concerts. In addition, the airport hosted Germany’s largest airshow from 1957 until 1990.

Parking Facilities

Short term parking facilities are located directly opposite Terminals A and B whereas long term facilities are situated further away in Parkhaus Ost, Parkhaus Nord, P3 and the perimeter parking area. A free 24 hour shuttle bus is provided from these parking facilities to the airport terminals. Alternatively, executive parking can be reserved in advance and is located in car park P1.

Transport Links

Hannover Airport is well serviced by a variety of means of transport. Trains run to and from the airport to the central city station. By car the airport can be reached from the A7 and A2 motorways or from the A352. A bus route also services the airport station and runs from the town of Langenhagen. Taxi ranks are located within the terminal buildings or an airport transfer service is available which will take you from your door to the terminal.

Conference and other Business Facilities

The airport houses its own conference centre, the Mövenpick Conference Center, located between Terminal A and Terminal B, which provides conference rooms suitable for 5 up to 350 delegates. Alternatively, conference and business facilities are available at the Maritim Airport Hotel Hannover and the Holiday Inn Hannover Airport, which are both also located on site. The airport also offers a VIP service available from the airport.

The City of Hannover

Hannover is a wealth of culture and entertainment as well as being a thriving business city, home to the Volkswagen and TUI headquarters. Hannover offers many cultural and heritage highlights as the capital of Lower Saxonry including the Opera House, the New Town Hall and the marketplace, Marktkirche.
