Malaga Airport is located approximately 5 miles southwest of the centre of Malaga City. It is also less than 3 miles north of the town of Torremolinos, an area that caters for many British tourists that pass through it. Just a few miles north of the airport lies the University of Malaga, and the Mediterranean coast is a couple of miles east.

Regular bus services operate from the airport bus stop, a short distance from the terminal building, to Marbella bus station and Malaga City. A train station on the opposite side of the road to the airport directly links to Malaga City and several other destinations. By road, the airport lies on the N-340, close to the E-15 and A-7.

The Europa Lounge is an executive lounge and is accessible in the Terminal 2 departure lounge, past security. Also in Terminal 2 is the Costa del Sol Lounge which can be hired for conferences and groups. There are internet facilities which can be used in the departure lounge.
