With the advent of Flybe Connections, passengers with the airline were able to easily travel to many of the 70 plus destinations that are a part of the Flybe Network throughout the UK and Western Europe.
Now Flybe passengers will have the opportunity to much further afield by booking tickets though Flybe’s Interline partners. At present the new option is only available through travel agents and not online.
For Scottish passengers from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen the choices are huge.
Flybe has the lowdown on their partners and what it means for passengers.
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and the UK’s Number One domestic carrier, offers an affordable galaxy of connections worldwide from Scotland through its extensive regional network and, with 22 interline partners that include Continental, Etihad, Qatar, Singapore, Swiss and Virgin, some of the world’s most popular destinations are also conveniently accessible. This is not only good news for those travelling far and wide from Glasgow where direct connections from Heathrow are no longer being offered by Bmi after March 27th, but also for those flying from Aberdeen and Edinburgh who may not have considered using alternative airports.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer comments: “We’ve noted the reported concerns of Glasgow travellers recently that the cost of interlining could increase following the withdrawal of Bmi’s London Heathrow service. We can reassure them that, with Flybe, there are other highly attractive and affordable options for flying to the US, Asia and Australasia other than just transiting Heathrow Airport,
“Flybe offers a choice of 51 Flybe routes from Glasgow alone! Thirty three of these are seamless connections offered via our hubs in Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton so there are lots of opportunities to connect to international destinations, giving the added value of receiving all necessary boarding cards and only having to check in your luggage at the original departure airport.”
Some key interline options from Glasgow available with our partners include:
VIA MANCHESTER AIRPORT
Las Vegas and Orlando with Virgin Atlantic
Abu Dhabi and beyond to Asia and Australasia with Etihad
Singapore and the Far East with Singapore Airlines
VIA BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT
Lyons with Air France
New York with Continental
Zurich with Swiss
Through tickets for Flybe connections can be booked online or via travel agents however through tickets for onward connections with Flybe’s interline partners must be booked with a travel agent. Hold baggage will be checked through to the passenger’s final destination and the baggage allowances of the international carrier apply across all sectors.
